Giggly dog

This laughing dog was a GIF I made while at BUCK. This was such a fun, quick project. The design is exported photoshop files, and it was animated in After Effects!

Design: Shannon Rollins

Animation: Lauren Kittle

Silk Oat Milk Logo

This was a logo animation I did at BUCK for Silk’s AR filter introducing their new Oat Milk. The client wanted something quick, fun, and it had to include a liquid motion. This was a super quick, one-day turnaround. Silk provided the AI file, and I handled all the animation in After Effects.

 BTS x Messenger

These are a series of GIFs I made while at BUCK. We were working to create Instagram posts for Messengers' new BTS sticker pack. I worked on composting the stickers and background elements into the 3D scene and also helped to create the graphics on the phones.

Gymshark Branding

Our brief: Pick any company that we wanted, research it, and create a short form branding piece. It needed to be 10-15 seconds long and include a logo animation. We also needed to make social formats, square, and 16x9.

I chose Gymshark right away. I liked their brand, and I knew their style was bold. My concept: Create an energetic piece to symbolize the strength, pace, & energy of the brand. Below are some pages from my process book!

FOX Casestudy

For the summer into the fall of 2019, I had the pleasure to intern at Trollbäck + Company! I was able to design and animate during my time at Trollbäck and Company. I learned SO much from everyone! Not only design and animation things, but organization skills, people skills, storytelling, writing, and presenting. The FOX case study was my favorite project from my internship.

This was by far the most extensive project file that I worked in, so I had to stay very organized. It was quite a fun challenge. The thing I enjoyed about the section I got to work on were all the small details that helped make the mock-ups feel more real, such as the Twitter heart animation when the tweets come on. The FOX rebrand as a whole is such a fantastic project.

Soon-To-Be Design School Graduates

During my internship, I had the opportunity to create a blog post! The topic was about advice for soon-to-be design school graduates. My brief: interview people in the studio, ask their thoughts/advice on graduating/finding a job, and edit it into paragraphs. Then create a relevant image to go along with each person’s section and design/animate a post about it for Instagram.

I enjoyed talking with everyone and gathering their insights. It seemed like everyone in the office had advice or a story to tell. I had full creative freedom for designing and animating. I had fun and created something that I liked. After making tons of options, this is what we landed on. I like the way everything turned out.

Social Media Posts

During my summer/fall internship at Trollbäck + Company, I animated one of the many cool posters hanging up in our office. The senior animator gave me the idea to make the ball flip around the center shape. After our conversation, I roughly modeled the center shape in cinema 4d and animated it. Then I imported my animation After Effects and used shape layers to achieve the look I wanted. After the team saw my finished project, they helped me composite it in a photo we took of our office!

I created this Instagram post during my internship based on a piece written by Alex Moulton. The article was Fintech Futures: Taking on the Apps.

My brief was straightforward, read the article, and make something cool for Instagram. In the article, the line that stood out to me the most was, “At its core, this is not a race for attention, but for trust.” I decided on a nice type animation and a dark green background since it revolves around money.

This is another Instagram post I created from an article that Alex Moulton wrote! The article was about brand strategy; he explains how brands can survive longer by making smart decisions instead of trendy ones.

I wanted to keep the design and animation very simple and timeless because that felt most fitting for the article.

For this project, I teamed up with my good pal, Will Burkart!

We were assigned the word Transmutation. After a lot of brainstorming and mind mapping, we decided our topic would be Vans Customs. We landed on Vans Customs for a few reasons. 1. We admired how the brand started; even in the beginning, they focused on customizing their shoes to fit your style. They would make the shoe you wanted out of any fabric you brought into their store! 2. We thought it was a unique and fun way to spin the word Transmutation. 3. We both have and love Vans!

We decided to make an Instagram Story instead of 1920 by 1080 style frames because we wanted to challenge ourselves to think outside of the box (the 1920 by 1080 box). We also wanted to follow the Vans branding by giving our piece the tactile feel. This piece shows the first Vans style, the Authentic, coming up and spinning around. With each movement, the colors and patterns interact with the shoe to show the customization feature that Vans offers. Finally, ending with the label “Vans Customs - Make Them Yours.”
